Ran through BYU campus.  It was super hot! I need to drink more water to stay hydrated.  I have been sick the past week so I didn't run as fast as usual, but for being sick I thought my time was farely good.

Welcome to the blog Bubby Sue. Why don't you think about how many miles you have did the last couple weeks and post them. By day would be good, but if you can't remember then just do a week total. Then we can get started on a plan of attack for the STGM in October.

P.S. You need to change you blog name to Bubby's training log

Today I ran from my house 560 NOrth and 7th east in provo up and around the Provo Temple.  It was a good run.  Took it kind of easy.  I ran it in 35 minutes.  Im planning on moving into full on training mode next week.  This week Im still recovering from being sick.

So lets see... You've been doing like around 25-30 miles per week the last month. We have four good months left until STGM. So next week try to start off the first of around 4-5 weeks of about 45-50 miles per week. Don't worry about time or anything like that. Just get in the miles on a 6 day a week log. Don't worry about how far your long run for the week is just as long as your weekly total is hitting you miles per week goal.

Then after the five weeks we can start looking at uping the mileage and also doing some types of speed.

Let me know if it sounds like too much. The key is daily miles to establish a good base.

Don't let a certain visitor from Texas keep you from getting your runs in! lol

Hiked up to the "Y".  We went rather quickly, running at some points.  It was a great work out.  I don't know how far it is.  I want to try and run up there every so often.

I ran up to the temple and around by the BYU track.  It was a good run. I felt really light headed.

This was a pretty good run.  When I was done I felt like I could have kept going for a lot longer.  Ran a few hills and tried to drive my knees.  I focused a lot on my form.

Good job Bubbs. As far as the next 4-5 weeks and how many miles you get in... You just need to pick a number that feels good for you. Then once you decide on it make yourself hit that weekly total for the next month or so.

Also on you long runs. I try and stay away from always doing it on the same day. I mean most of the time I do it on Saturdays but if you run this type of plan it is very flexible. Let's say on a regular week you run everyday and on one day you do your long run. But what if your travling or sick. It messes up your whole plan. With this system if your sick or miss a run on a Monday you just keep going with your week and make it up with a few more miles on each day or on a longer run sometime later on in the week. So anyways it's worked pretty good for me. The most important factor is just being consistant and trying to get that weekly mileage...week after week after week and then you start seeing good results.

I also told Mik'L to tell you that you should run at least one if not two half marathons this summer to warm up for STGM. We are running Bryce Canyon in July and Hobble Creek in Aug. You should come run both of those. Or you could do the Provo River half sometime as well.

Miller and I ran a 7 mile loop.  It was sooooo hot!  We stopped and drank out of sprinklers at Timpview High.  It felt good though.

Ran the 7 mile loop again. I left about noon so I thought it would be too hot to run that long but it was good. Took my 1 hour and 1 minute.
